Ms. Diane Chen, General Manager of Shenyang New World EXPO, has been elected to the Board of Directors and as Vice-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. Her 3-year term will commence following the
association’s annual General Assembly, scheduled before UFI’s Global Congress on November 1, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. 

Additionally, Ms. Chen serves as a member of the board of Shenyang New World EXPO (Management) Ltd, which is responsible for managing and running Northeast China’s premier and most advanced exhibition and meeting venue, EXPO. She has been involved with UFI for nine years.

UFI serves as the global trade association for tradeshow organizers, exhibition centre
operators, national and international exhibition associations, and key industry partners. Its primary mission is to advocate for, promote, and support the business interests of its members and the exhibition industry worldwide. With over 50,000 industry employees directly represented and collaboration with 60 national and regional associations, UFI has over 820 member organizations in 85+ countries. Furthermore, more than 1,000 international trade fairs proudly carry the UFI-approved label.

Every three years, elections are held to select the four chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of UFI’s Asia-Pacific Chapter Leadership. The members choose a truly international body during this process, comprising representatives from UFI chapters all over the world. The Board of Directors is responsible for putting General Assembly decisions into action, creating UFI policy, and drafting all proposals pertaining to issues that have an impact on international trade shows. These proposals, which have undergone extensive preparation, are presented to UFI members for voting at the annual General Assembly.
