Join ABTA LifeLine’s 1st Golf Day on June 18 at Crondon Park to support those in need in the travel industry. Fun for all, no matter your skill level!

ABTA LifeLine is excited to extend an invitation to the travel industry for its inaugural “Golf Day Extravaganza,” aimed at gathering support for those within the travel sector facing hardships. No matter your level of golf expertise, from aspiring Tiger Woods to enthusiastic amateur, this event promises an engaging competition on a prestigious Championship course. The inclusive ‘Texas Scramble’ format ensures that everyone, regardless of skill, has a fair shot at victory while enjoying a day filled with enjoyment and laughter.

The event is scheduled to take place at Crondon Park Golf Club on June 18, beginning with a welcoming breakfast at 11:00 AM, followed by the tee-off at 1:30 PM. The festivities will conclude with the presentation of awards, a BBQ, and a charity auction.

To participate, each team of four is asked to contribute £595 as a donation to Lifeline.

Trudie Clements, the director of ABTA LifeLine, shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “As our very first golf tournament, we aim for it to be welcoming to all. The chosen format ensures that everyone—from novices to seasoned players—has an equal opportunity to compete and win. It’s set to be a day of fun, casual networking with peers from the industry, and most importantly, it’s an opportunity to support LifeLine during a time when many within our sector are in need of assistance. We promise a memorable day at the stunning Crondon Golf Course, which is eagerly awaiting our arrival.”

Texas Scramble Explained:

In this team-based approach, every member has the opportunity to play from every tee-off position. Following the initial tee-off by all team members, the group selects the best drive. Then, each member places their ball at that spot and takes their second shot. The best of these second shots is chosen, and the process repeats from this new location until the ball is in the hole. The team records a single score per hole, aiming for the lowest total score to win.
