The 10th Cambodia International Hospitality and Food & Drinks Exhibition (CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024) kicked off yesterday at Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC), presenting the nation’s flourishing food and hospitality sectors to a global audience.

Running from November 6–8, the three-day event brings together professionals from the Hotel, Restaurant, and Café/Catering (HORECA) industries, providing a platform for networking, showcasing trends, and driving innovation.

The opening ceremony, led by Alice Lem, Event and Business Development Director of Informa Markets Malaysia and Cambodia, underscored the event’s potential impact on Cambodia’s hospitality and culinary landscape.

“We believe this event will be crucial for advancing our industry, as it creates opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation that will shape the future of the HORECA sector,” Lem stated.

The exhibition aligns with Cambodia’s vision for sustainable tourism and economic growth, with over 150 exhibitors presenting the latest innovations in food production, hospitality, and service technologies. The event is expected to attract more than 12,000 professionals from across the globe.

Secretary of State for the Ministry of Tourism, Pak Sokhom, highlighted the exhibition’s role in promoting Cambodia’s food supply chain and enhancing hospitality skills.

“The food, beverage, hotel, and hospitality sectors are pivotal for tourism development, offering rich culinary experiences that strengthen cultural exchange and economic growth,” Sokhom said.

“This industry is a critical driver of tourism and plays a key role in fostering a sustainable and vibrant economy.”

Din Somethearith, President of the Tourism Federation of Cambodia, noted the industry’s unprecedented growth driven by rising tourism and expanding domestic markets.

“This exhibition is strategically positioned to leverage increased investment in tourism infrastructure and Cambodia’s growing appreciation for international cuisine,” Somethearith added.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and Ministry of Commerce (MoC), and supported by key industry associations, CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 reflects Cambodia’s commitment to positioning its food and hospitality sectors as integral to the nation’s tourism growth and global reputation.
