After a highly successful event in Perth, Western Australia, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is set to host its prestigious Global Summit in Rome this year. This marks a significant return to Europe after six years, with the summit taking place from September 28-30, 2025, at the iconic Auditorium Parco della Musica, a venue renowned for its architecture and cultural significance.

Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), and supported by the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region, this year’s event promises to be a historic occasion, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the globe. According to the official Italian National Tourist Board website, Rome, a city with millennia of rich history, serves as the ideal backdrop to discuss critical developments in travel and tourism.

A Spotlight on Digital Transformation and Sustainable Tourism

Recognized as the leading global event in the travel and tourism industry calendar, the WTTC Global Summit brings together government representatives, industry pioneers, and business leaders to address the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. With Rome as the stage, this year’s discussions will focus on key topics such as digital transformation, regenerative tourism, and investment strategies.

The WTTC Global Summit has become known for attracting high-profile speakers over the years, including former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, former UK Prime Ministers Theresa May and David Cameron, and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The 2024 Summit in Perth featured keynotes from John Kerry, the 68th U.S. Secretary of State, on climate concerns, and conservationist Robert Irwin, who spoke on the tourism sector’s role in wildlife conservation.
